Hoover Dam, it is apparently one of the most recognizable places in the U.S. and more tourist attraction which is visited each year from 8 to 10 million people. In the years 1933-1947 the official name of the dam was Boulder Dam. It is located in a narrow canyon of the Colorado River on the border states of Nevada and Arizona. Dam rises to 224 meters which is roughly the amount of 70-storey skyscraper, has a width of 379 meters. Once it formed the northern side of the Lake Mead, one of the largest man-made reservoirs of the world. The length of the lake is 177 km, a length of 1323 km of coastline.
